Varanasi is Said to be the point at which the first jyotirlinga, the fiery pillar of light by which shiva manifested has supremacy over others gods, broke through the Earth’s crust and flared towards the heavens. More than the Gaths and even the Ganga, the Shivalinga installed in the temple remains the devotional focus of  Varanasi

Enjoy a boat ride on the Ganges and see the cremation grounds from the boat. Return to your hotel for breakfast. Later visit the Golden Temple, Bharat Mata Temple and Birla ( Shiva ) Temple. In the afternoon transfer to Airport to fly for delhi. Upon arrival farewell dinner at Restaurant followed by Indian folk dances from different States. Word Heritage - Qutab Minar in Delhi

Qutab-Minar in red and buff sandstone is the highest tower in India. It has a diameter of 14.32 m at the base and about 2.75 m on the top with a height of 72.5 m.Qutbu'd-Din Aibak laid the foundation of Minar in AD 1199 for the use of the mu'azzin (crier) to give calls for prayer and raised the first storey, to which were added three more storey’s by his successor and son-in-law, Shamus’s-Din Iltutmish (AD 1211-36). All the storeys are surrounded by a projected balcony encircling the minar and supported by stone brackets, which are decorated with honey-comb design, more conspicuously in the first storey.

Numerous inscriptions in Arabic and Nagari characters in different places of the minar reveal the history of Qutb. According to the inscriptions on its surface it was repaired by Firuz Shah Tughlaq (AD 1351-88) and Sikandra Lodi (AD 1489-1517). Major R.Smith also repaired and restored the Minar in 1829.

Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, to the north-east of Qutab Minar was built by Qutbu'd-Din Aibak in AD 1198. It is the earliest extant mosque built by the Delhi Sultans. It consists of a rectangular courtyard enclosed by cloisters, erected with the carved columns and architectural members of 27 Hindu and Jaina temples which were demolished by Qutbu'd-Din Aibak as recorded in his inscription on the main eastern entrance.

Later, a lofty arched screen was erected and the mosque was enlarged by Shamus’s-Din Iltutmish (AD 1210-35) and Alau'd-Din Khalji. The Iron Pillar in the courtyard bears an inscription in Sanskrit in Brahmi script of fourth century AD, according to which the pillar was set up as a Vishnudhvaja (standard of god Vishnu) on the hill known as Vishnupada in memory of a mighty king named Chandra. A deep socket on the top of the ornate capital indicates that probably an image of Garuda was fixed into it.

The tomb of Iltutmish (AD 1211-36) was built in AD 1235. It is a plain square chamber of red sandstone, profusely carved with inscriptions, geometrical and arabesque patterns in Saracenic tradition on the entrances and the whole of interior. Some of the motifs viz., the wheel, tassel etc., are reminiscent of Hindu designs.

Named after the Arbuda Devi, the city is also known for being the headquarters of the Brahmakumaris religious sect. Mount Abu, the only hill station in Rajasthan, is also said to be the God's abode. There are many temples in this region and the place is said to be an important place of penance for the sages in ancient times.

Built between the 11th and 13th century, the Dilwara Jain Temples are known for their intricate carvings and the white marble used to build the temples. The temples are dedicated to the Jain Tirthankaras. Vimal Vasahi, Lun Vasahi, Shri Risha Lhdeo, Shri Parshvanath and Shri Mahavir Swami are the other five Jain temples. Two brothers - Vastupal and Tejpal, built the Lun Vasahi temple, which is most sacred among the five. The unique feature of this temple is the marble dome in the porch, which is made up of a cluster of half open lotuses, which appear to be almost transparent. In the heart of the town, at one end of the Mall is Nakki Lake. With the hills overlooking the beauty of this lake from all sides, the road that leads to the lake appears as if contemplating to take a dip in the lake.

Bharatpur Palace

Jawahar Burj and Fateh Burj
A few of the eight imposing towers still stand erect within the glorious ramparts of the fort. Especially two of them - Jawahar Burj and Fateh Burj are of special interest. These were built by Maharaja Suraj Mal to commemorate his victories over the Mughals and British respectively. The coronation ceremony of the Jat rulers of Bharatpur was also held at the Jawahar Burj. The Jawahar Burj was built by Suraj Mal in 1765, in celebration of the successful attack on Delhi. There are a series of pavilions here, the ceilings of which display some badly deteriorating frescoes. The Fateh Burj is a victory tower too, raised after driving away the British forces in 1805. It was from these towers that the Jat Maharajas happily surveyed their fast-growing territory.

The Vijay Stambha
There's an iron pillar in the palace complex called the Vijay Stambha (Victory Column) on which is inscribed the genealogy of the Jat kings, starting right from Lord Krishna. UN Sharma has mentioned the chronology of Krishna in which starting from Sindhupal in 64th generation of Krishna to Bharatpur ruler Maharaja Brijendra Singh (1929-joined the Indian Union), all the rulers are mentioned as Yaduvanshi Jats.

Ganga Mandir (Temple)
Maharaja Balwant Singh started the construction of this big temple in 1845. The construction was carried out by a unique method, where all persons employed in the service of the state, were asked to donate one month’s salary of their service or any raise in pay towards the shrine. The temple is a beautiful piece of architecture.

Laxman Mandir (Temple)
This temple is famous for beautiful stone work with elaborate carvings from doorways to ceilings, pillars, walls and arches. The temple is dedicated to Laxmana, brother of Lord Rama.

Bharatpur Fort

Lohagarh Fort (Iron fort) is situated at Bharatpur in Rajasthan, India. It was constructed by Bharatpur Jat rulers. Maharaja Suraj Mal used all his power and wealth to a good cause, and built numerous forts and palaces across his kingdom, one of them being the Lohagarh Fort (Iron fort), which was one of the strongest ever built in Indian history.

The inaccessible Bharatpur Fort could withstand repeated attacks of British forces led by Lord Lake in 1805 when they laid siege for over six weeks. Having lost over 3000 soldiers, the British forces had to retreat and strike a compromise with the Bharatpur ruler. Of the two gates in the fort, one in the north is known as Ashtdhaatu (eight metalled) gate while the one facing the south is called Chowburja (four-pillared) gate.

t is very different from the other forts in Rajasthan state, there is no flamboyance associated to fort but it generates an aura of strength and magnificence. The fort is surrounded with moat which was previously filled with water to ward off the enemy attacks. The sandy ramparts were strengthened by sandy battlements, thus the enemy guns proved of no avail.

Some interesting monuments in the fort are Kishori Mahal, Mahal Khas and Kothi Khas. Moti Mahal and towers like Jawahar Burj and Fateh Burj were erected to commemorate the victory over the Mughals and the British army. The Gateway has paintings of huge elephants.

The Lohagarh Fort, constructed by Bharatpur Jat rulers, true to its name stood solidly in front of many British attacks, and frustrated them to ends. Lohagarh Fort means 'Fort of Iron', and the fort was what its name suggested; virtually impregnable. Protected by deep moats on all sides, it was said that it could fall "only when a crocodile swallowed up all the water of the moat. It's obvious that the Jats did not believe in laxity. So, while lesser forts gave way more easily, Lohargarh stood firm, giving Bharatpur the security it needed.
